Warrant Round-Up: Donating Canned Foods Can Waive Warrant Fee

The City of Dallas wants you to take care of your warrants. If you have a Dallas Class C Misdemeanor warrant the city’s offering a discount on your warrant fees, with a few cans. They’ve turned their Warrant Round Up into a food drive.  According to the Marshal’s Office, they want to encourage individuals and businesses who have outstanding issues in city of Dallas Municipal Courts to resolve them during this period. The Marshal’s Office also added, “If you are unable to pay a fine in full, appear at the Dallas Municipal Court to request alternative payment options or contact the court for additional information. Defendants coming to Court wanting to resolve their citations will NOT be arrested for outstanding warrants or outstanding citations”. Find out more about the program here: City of Dallas

You can stop by the Dallas Municipal Court at 2014 Main Street from Saturday, February 9 thru Wednesday, February 13 with the specific cans the city has asked for:

Below is the list of accepted items during the drive (no exceptions):
1) Canned Vegetables
2) Canned Beans
3) Canned Tuna or Chicken
*Baby Food or formula will not be accepted*
*Glass containers will not be accepted*
*Cans will NOT be accepted after Wednesday, 2/13*

The hours will be as follows:
Saturday, 2/9 = 9:00am to 1:00pm
Sunday, 2/10 = 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Monday, 2/11 thru Wednesday, 2/13 = 7:30am to 7:00pm

In Fort Worth, the city is hosting a “warrant forgiveness” program throughout the month of February. Those who voluntarily appear at a court location in February and take action on their cases may be eligible for community service or a reduction in the fine amount.
