Views and Visions: Prints of the American West, 1820-1970 (Arts)

Experience the intrigue and fascination of the early American West in a special exhibition of nineteenth and twentieth century prints and illustrated books from the Carter’s permanent collection. Views and Visions: Prints of the American West, 1820–1970 features works by American artists who depicted the grand landscapes, wild animals, and rugged individuals of the West.Admission is free.

The 33rd Annual Lakewood Home Festival will be November 13-15, 2009. The fun-filled weekend starts Friday with an evening candlelight tour and Auction Party fundraiser. Saturday and Sunday the doors open to our holiday market, café and six spectacular estates each with a unique design style for you to tour. Playing off of the 1980’s comedy classic “Caddyshack,” the theme for this year’s Auction Party is Lakewood Caddyshack: Gopher the Fun, Gopher the Schools. Festival proceeds go to support local DISD schools.
