Texas Pottery & Sculpture Guild's 22nd Annual Holiday Sale (Arts and Craft Fair)
Location: Ft. Worth Community Art Center

The Texas Pottery & Sculpture Guild’s 22nd Annual “Holiday Sale,” in Fort Worth on November 6th, 5-9 PM, and November 7th, 10 AM-4 PM, at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street. Free admission. Participating will be artists from North Texas, featuring functional and decorative artwork. Included in the activities will be a silent auction benefiting TPSG and the Emergency Artists Support League (EASL). There also will be the raffling of a distinctive mosaic vase. In addition on Friday night, come join us for a special “Meet the Artists” wine and dessert reception.

Experience the intrigue and fascination of the early American West in a special exhibition of nineteenth and twentieth century prints and illustrated books from the Carter’s permanent collection. Views and Visions: Prints of the American West, 1820–1970 features works by American artists who depicted the grand landscapes, wild animals, and rugged individuals of the West.Admission is free.

This event is dedicated to all the men and women who have served their country in the armed forces.Activities include a 5K, 10K and 1 mile fun run, Car, Bike and Truck show, family entertainment, great food, live music, silent auction, patriotic Veteran’s ceremonies and an incredible fireworks extravaganza. Festival Admission: 1 canned good or non-perishable food item donation, or $1/person. All donations are going to local food banks.

On Target for A Cure, Sporting Clays Tournament benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society kicks off its fourth year on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 9am at Elm Fork Shotgun Sports - 10751 Luna Road, Dallas, Texas 75220. Armed with a cause, On Target for a Cure includes a day of shooting with a lunch and on-site silent auction at Elm Fork Shotgun Sports. Corporate teams, father/son teams and friends come together for a day of clay shooting, camaraderie and a competitive spirit for a cure. Individual shooters are $150 and event sponsorship begins at $800 and includes shooting fees for a four-person team, lunch, t-shirt, ammunition as well as recognition. We are hosting a craft and gift show on November 7 from 10-4. Admission to the event is free. There will be a variety of craft and at-home businesses represented. We are expecting around 50 booths. Vietnam Memorial Wall Dedication (Military Memorial Dedication)
Time: 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: Memorial Park on FM 1388 in Kaufman

Kaufman will dedicate a 4/5 permanent replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. The Dedication ceremony will start with a parade down Washington (Hwy 34) at 1:00pm. The parade will end at the Memorial Park where we will be welcomed by the Reflections choir who will begin the dedication ceremony with Patriotic Music. The ceremony will feature recognition of the Kaufman County Vietnam Vets, a ribbon cutting, honored speakers and an Air Force flyover. The afternoon will culminate with a ride by the wall by the Patriot Guard and American Legion Riders and then a performance by Elmo Blue. Surrounding the dedication event is a 3 day bike rally. There will be food & souvenir venders.
