This exhibition of forty landmark and lesser-known works by the renowned artist-photographer is drawn from the Carter’s holdings and a private collection.Ansel Adams was the last major artist to subscribe to the romantic tradition of American landscape, an artistic lineage that included Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Cole, William Henry Jackson and Carleton Watkins. He excelled at capturing a glorious American West before tourism and development marked the land. His goal was “to rekindle an appreciation of the marvelous.”

On the Air! hits the stage on June 10th in Balch Springs. The song and dance revue takes the audience on a nostalgic trip back to the 1940s when radio was the lifeline for Americans. Seven actors join together in comedy sketches, a mystery theatre, commercial breaks, jingles and letters to our soldiers (WWII). On the Air: A 1940s Song and Dance Revue opens on Thursday, June 10, in the Roxy Theatre, located inside the Arts Alliance/Chamber of Commerce facility in Pioneer Oaks Shopping Center, 4000 Pioneer Road, Suite 201A in Balch Springs. Performance dates are: June 10, 18 and 19 at 7:30 pm and June 13 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. The ticket price includes dessert and a beverage. Seating is limited and reservations fill up quickly.
