Billy is Texan all the way, born and raised in Mineral Wells about 50 miles west of Ft. Worth. No stranger to hauling hay in the Texas summers and working on the west Texas gas pipelines between college semesters, the climate controlled studios of a radio station was a welcome place.
A graduate of Mineral Wells high school (go you fight' in Rams!) Billy went on to play football at T.C.U. where he made the freshman all-American team while starting with the varsity, and studying radio, television, film.
An avid outdoors man his entire life, Billy found his true outdoor passion when he first hunted quail behind bird dogs. He has since had dogs that have run on the national championship level. Billy loves to spend time with his family, and cherishes the hunts, camping trips, and cookouts together. His wife Robin and son Troy are his second true love. (You didn't think he placed the bird dogs first did you??) "My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is first."
His Kinder Kids program has received the prestigious foster and adoption award from the state of Texas.
